Once again God shows us how amazing he is. I just got another email from PayPal with a $50 donation towards the mission trip. I cannot thank you guys for the support and the prayers….you guys ROCK!!!!! I am so excited about the trip. I am going to Hobbs, NM next Friday for a team meeting. I will be able to meet all the people that will be going on this mission trip. I am really excited to get to know them. Most of them I already know. I grew up in Hobbs so I am familiar with who they are. The thing that is going to be awesome is they will get to know Joe Barnes the “man”…don’t laugh, instead of the little boy they all knew.
One thing I am not looking forward to is the Malaria pills. I’ve been told that most people get a little sick when they take them. Yesterday I had to fill out all the documents for the trip. One of the hardest forms to fill out was the Notification of Death. When I saw that, this whole trip became a reality.
God Bless Your Day!
God is AWESOME!!! What more can I say…..GOD IS AWESOME!!! I am very proud to say that my financial goals for this mission trip have been met!!! Any donation received from here on out will be going to help my other team members or will be going to the Mission itself.
Check out what happened today. So, I’m at the doctor’s office sitting in the waiting room and I get an email on my iPhone (the greatest phone ever!). This is normal for me to get emails on my iPhone. I have my Training Camp email setup and my Suprajoe account setup on it. So I decided to see what wonderful email had been sent to me. I thumb through the different screens to get to that particular email and it is from Paypal. I’m thinking it is another one of those spam emails or identity theft emails. It wasn’t. A member of the church donated $500.00 so I can make this mission trip. If it wasn’t for me sitting down, I probably would had fallen over. When I least expected, God shows me that He will take care of me….well, not just me but the Mission Team and the people we are doing the mission work for.
To the wonderful woman that donated this money, I want to tell you that you are truly an awesome person. As I am typing this, I want you to know that you have touched my heart and I am having a hard time typing because my eyes are watering…..I’m tough so I’m not crying, yeah right! I have heard of the wonderful mission trips that you are doing and I know God has made you into this special giving Being. Thank you so much for your generosity. Thank You!!!
God Bless Your Day!!!

Today was an awesome day!!! Here is what happened:
- Cole gave an awesome sermon on SEX. Yes, SEX! What I love about The Connection Church is that Cole and Zak really don’t beat around the bush. I think most churches want to skip the subjects that really need to be talked about. But no, not ours….and I love it!!!
- Bram sang East to West and it was AWESOME!!! Not only does this man have so much wisdom and knowledge, he can sing great too.
- Today was baptism Sunday. We had several youth and adults get baptized. Bridget from our Connection Group was baptized, I am so proud of you girl!!! It was AWESOME!!! It is so awesome watching these people come up out of the water and seeing their face glow. When I take pictures of the baptism, my favorite ones are when I get a good shot of them going in/out of the water. I will post pictures tomorrow.

I heard something today that I thought was really neat so I thought I would share.
It’s not how you start life,
but what you do with it,
and most important, how you finish it.
When I read that last part, how you finish it, I am not thinking of living to be 100 years old. I’m thinking of what I am doing now and in the future. I might live to reach the ripe old age of 100, but I’m not going to hold my breath on that. Heck, I don’t know if I want to live that long, but I do know that when the time comes…….I AM/WILL BE READY. Every second, minute, hour, day, week, month, and year that goes by gets me closer to that “finish.” Why am I ready, because a man gave his life for me, and you. He died so our sins could be forgiven. I am a believer and follower of Christ. That’s how I know.
God Bless Your Day
Today I mailed off the check to pay for my plane ticket to Africa!!!! I am so excited!!! Thank you all for your prayers. Keep’em coming.

We were at Hot Hearts this past weekend and it was so awesome. We had junior and senior high students go. It was at Highland Lakes Camp. There were about 500 students from all around that attended Hot Hearts. 33 Miles Christian band was there and they ROCKED the house!!! It was an awesome experience for me because I got to know a couple of the junior high kids a little bit better. I made some connections with them that I hadn’t been able to make before. All I can say about that is God really blessed me this past weekend. Melanie was there as well and she had a great time. It was awesome to get to experience something like that with my wife. It got a little crazy at night though. The room we were in had around 30 bunk beds and they all had someone sleeping in them. I had to get out my trusty iPhone and my noise canceling headphones and I was set. I didn’t hear a thing. Which was good because I know the boys had a blast yelling back and forth….and I didn’t have to hear it. NOTE: those of you looking at sponsoring at a youth camp, look at getting these headphone – Etymotic Research, Inc. – you will not be disappointed. The highlight of the trip, we had 6 students in our group that accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. THANK YOU JESUS!!!!
I would like to ask you to please pray for our youth. Pray that the ones who have accepted Christ, walk with Him, and the ones that are still searching, find Him.
I was at Men’s Connection Group last night and Bram said something that I thought was really cool so I am going to share it.
“It is not you who make things happen, it is the Christ in you that does.”
Take some time out to really think about that. It is AWESOME!!!

Youth got a little crazy tonight. If it isn’t Ketchup and M&Ms, it is chocolate and sour gummi worms. We played a game called Mother Bird and, well….it was crazy!!!! Check out the photos.
Our youth are really awesome young people and I pray that they realize that and trust in God.
