This song, and this version, has to be my favorite. It is by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole from the album Facing Future. Song is called Somewhere Over the Rainbow. I hope you enjoy it. Just click the album cover on the right hand side.

Christmas was really awesome! We got to spend it with my side of the family this year. We went to Grandma and Grandpa’s house in Roswell, NM, and yes, I did see a few aliens! The best moment of the whole trip was the whole family took communion together. Grandpa is really sick so the pastor of his church came by and we all took communion. Here is a family photo:

So out of the clear blue, I have started snoring. It is odd because I started snoring as if you were to turn on a light, it just happened. So here is what I have found out about snoring, from our good friends at the Mayo Clinic:
Definition
Loud and frequent snoring can be more than just a nuisance to your partner. Snoring may indicate a serious health condition, and it can disrupt your household.
Snoring is common. Almost half of adults snore at least occasionally. Snoring occurs when air flows past relaxed tissues in your throat, causing the tissues to vibrate as you breathe, creating hoarse or harsh sounds.
Lifestyle changes, such as losing weight, avoiding alcohol close to bedtime or sleeping on your side, can help stop snoring.
In addition, surgery is available that may reduce disruptive snoring. However, surgery isn’t suitable or necessary for everyone who snores.
First off I have not been losing weight, I have actually been gaining weight thanks to my new pain management pills. Second, I don’t drink alcohol or anything alcohol related. Third, surgery is not an option. You see, my snoring isn’t a constant thing. It will usually wake me up and I will change my sleeping position. It is just plum crazy I tell ya! I hope Melanie doesn’t start punching me in the middle of the night. I might wake up one morning with a broke nose!!!
Here are a few pictures that I took of D.C. while with the Parker’s. We had a blast in the freezing cold!!!
I was in the Marine Corps from 1993 - 1997. Three years of those four I was stationed on the wonderful island of Okinawa, Japan. Within the first couple of days of getting on the island is when I met Evan Parker. Within those three years, Evan became one of the best friends I have ever had. Evan left the island a few months before I did. When he left, that was the last time I saw him, until last weekend, so around almost 12 years.. I got to meet his beautiful family and we went to D.C. to check out some of the sites. I had a blast, even though it was FREEZING cold out side, I had a blast.
This first picture is of Evan and me from either 1996 or 1997.

I just finished teaching a security class in Virgina, and I am sitting around surfing the web. I went to my blog and was looking at the picture of Melanie and me. WOW! I have one beautiful, sexy, gorgeous, ravishing, stunning, pulchritudinous…I could keep on going, wife! What did I do that God would bless me with her? Thank you God!
By the way, I met Melanie Feb. 25th 1998 and we got married May 21st 1998. This coming May will be 11 years!!!

So, I have now had my Magic Jack for 6 months and I have to say that I am very impressed with this little gadget. Everything that the website has said about this gadget has been the truth. So, what can you do with this Magic Jack?
1. Get rid of your expensive phone bill! As long as you have fast enough Internet access, the Magic Jack will work. I was in DR Congo, Africa and we were using satellite for Internet, when it was up. The speed was not fast at all, maybe around 128k or so. The Magic Jack worked! Yes, in the middle of no where in Africa! So, if you can get out of your home phone bill, do it and get one of these. Again, it cost me $50 for the first YEAR and then $20 dollars every YEAR after. Yes, YEAR…not month.
2. If you travel outside of the U.S., this is for you! I bought a second Magic Jack and left it in Africa so they could call back to the U.S. It does not matter where you are in the world, you can call back to the US, and I believe Canada, for that small yearly price. Oh, and you do have to have internet access. I you know of a missionary, this would be something so awesome to give to them.
I have a cousin that her and her husband are in Italy. He is in the Navy and is stationed over there. I told my aunt about the Magic Jack, so she bought one for them. They will not need to get phone service while they are in Italy. As long as they have internet access, they will be able to use this and call back home.
I also have a buddy of mine that is teaching a class for my company over in Germany. He bought a Magic Jack so I told him he needed to bring it with him to Germany and use it. He told me that AT&T cell phone service for him over in Germany would be .99 cents a minute. WOW! So he brought his Magic Jack and is making free calls back home.
My daughter is getting to that age where she likes to get on the phone, and stay on it. Instead of getting an additional phone line from TWC, I am going to get another Magic Jack and connect it to her computer. Then she will have her own phone and it will not tie up the home phone. Plus, it will save me a lot of money each month.
With all that said, I do not work for Magic Jack. I have never met Magic, or Jack. I got it because I was tired of paying my $30 - $40 dollar a month phone bill. I saw the commercial and thought, you know what, for $50 dollars, why not try it. I did and I have been so impressed. The I got a second one for the DR Congo, Africa mission trip I went on and that was truley a gift from God.
So, if you have any questions about this, post a comment and I will answer your question. I get so many “hits” on this blog site every day from people that are searching for Magic Jack, and if it really work. YES, it does, and again, if you have questions, post a comment and I will answer them.
Happy 233rd Birthday Marines! Have fun and be safe tonight.
Also, would like to say that if Evan Parker, USMC, is out there, contact me! It has been a while and would like to catch up.
